Well, after perusing this forum for far too long, I went down to the local 2nd hand tool shop and look what I found:

A TT Kelly Perfect. I paid $21.50 for it, which I thought was reasonable. It even has the original handle in good shape.
I believe it is a Michigan pattern, but I don't have a lot of experience with different axe patterns. There is a small flat spot close to the heel of the blade, but other than that it is in great shape. I cleaned it up with a wire cup and she absolutely shines.
Now here is the real kicker: the fellow who owns the shop is also a collector, and has a Sager Chemical Axe single bit Michigan that he politely declined to sell. From what I gather, those are fairly rare things to come across.
Regards,
Mike
