My first axe restoration pics

Nicely done! Looks very good, especially for your first restore and presumably your first hang. Excellent work! Have you started the next one yet? Haha. Normally once you get bit by the axe bug, it takes over a little bit. Lol.

Haha yeah, I've got another thread I posted here recently with images of another axe that came from my great grandpa im trying to identify. I've also started restoring it. I'm trying electrolysis instead of phosphoric acid to remove the rust this time. I'll have to start another thread on it.

This was the first time I've really restored anything, I needed a working axe for our new fireplace and just had a go haha. The hardest part I found was actually hanging it. Took my quite some time and effort to get the handle fully through the eye. The wedge also kept bouncing out and was an absolute pain to get in.
Got it all done but!
