This is the first knife I made, I started making knives at 09-2013, so have a little patient with me please.

It's my version of the famous knife from the movie "Cobra"

O1 5mm steel
total length 305mm
Micarta handle with red spacers
Spikes are removable

Joost,

Welcome to bladeforums!

Ah- the knife from the movie Cobra. Sorry to say, but I think it is extremely ugly!

On the other hand, it looks like you made a nice job of recreating this knife!

Kind regards,

Jos

Hi Jos,

Do you meen that the knife is made ugly or that you don't like the knife form at all ?
Sometimes things are so ugly that they are beautiful. :-)

When I was a kid I thought that was the most bad-ass thing ever. Looks like you did it justice.

Nailed it man, nice work!

If this is your first knife, I'm notably impressed.

How did you make the spikes? Lathe? How are they embedded?

I'm guessing you have machinist skills or something precise.

They look to me like commercially available screw in spikes such as one would use for a punk rock jacket or other leather work. But I could be wrong.

Interesting and ambitious design for a first knife, or even just a first bad ass knife.

You did a very "bad ass" job on that piece which is a rather iconic piece in knife history. Many should be happy to be able to accomplish this task in only a few months of knife making. Keep it up and I'm sure we will see lots more "bad ass" pieces being presented here on the CBF. Thanks for sharing.

You'r not wrong, I don't have a lathe, I make all my knives by hand and file...

No, I'm from school an a furniture maker, and now I'm a ICT Manager. All of this knife making I learned myself and seeing many movies on youtube :-)
