I never owned a fixes blade yet. So I went with the Gunny. Wanted a Bravo-1.....but something smaller. Seemed too big for me. Virtuovice's videos are so awesome...and wanted something for if ever the SHTF. To also go with my son and teach eachother how to build a fire from dry and wet wood, flint and cotten balls or dryer lint coated in vaseline. Thoughts? (Opening it now!)

Dryer lint is fine, if all you wash and dry is 100% cotton - and you have no pets. If you have a few indoor cats and some synthetic blends, prepare for some hard to start, stinky, and possibly unhealthy fire starter. As to fire starting, ferrocerium rods spark best off the sharp edged back spine of a carbon steel blade, like BRK&T's A-2 or common 1095. Most stainless steels don't spark well - if at all. Good luck!

I love brkt. Just bought a couple of BHK's. I like the handles on the BHK's more but the finished blade on the BRKT
