While searching for a new hunting / camping / general purpose knife I happened across these forums and just sort of lurked around reading reviews, looking at pics, etc.. After a week of researching, I finally settled on the BK2. It came in the mail on Friday, and I'm very pleased with it... So much so that I decided to order a BK14 today and am seriously considering a BK9.

I also ordered a ESEE 5 accessories pouch to install on my BK2 sheath... Meanwhile, it has a Leatherman pouch strapped to it. Here are a few pics that I snapped with my iPhone while doing some target shooting today.

New pics after I worked on the scales a bit.. I like them much better now!

Soaked them in black rit dye for about an hour..but I didn't like the way they turned out. They ended up a very dark brown, not at all black. So I sanded them with 1000 grit sand paper to lighten them up a bit. Then dipped them in the dye again, just for a minute or two, to even out the color. I think they turned out great.. I'm really happy with the outcome.

Congrats. Welcome and thanks for the pictures!

Welcome to the Becker forum, and Bladeforums, glad you're here.

Good choice, the BK2 is a great knife, and will serve you well.

Good pics too.

Welcome! Good choice on the knife, pull the trigger on the 9 and 14, they're great knives and you won't be disappointed. My 14 is probably my favorite Becker, since I can EDC it so often, and I like the Izula-style grip. Throw a paracord wrap on there and you're good to go.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you're ready to spend more money on blades then you every expected ;)

I'm already realizing that this is going to be an expensive hobby.

In the past week I've ordered:
- BK2
- BK14
- Ontario Rat-3
- Kershaw Clash (spring assisted folding knife)

Plus $150 or so in misc accessories..

Welcome and the BK2 is a nice general utility knife. Hope you have lots of great moments with it. Take it easy of the steel stock piling...lol...too many knives will lessen quality hard use time. Hehe!

Cheers!

Great choice!

I started with the 14, moved on with the 2 and Lord knows where it'll end!!

Welcome, Great Blade, and Great place to spend some time and learn some things and share some Pictures.

Wipe the mud off your boots and come in the house. The 2 is a great place to start. A true American classic. Every man needs a 10-22 and a Becker BK2.

The 2 is a fine knife. It really opens the doors to the rest of the Becker collection. Good call getting a 14 as well. It is a perfect compliment to the BK2 when you are in the bush. Stick around, stuff only gets better from here on out.

Very nice! I started with the BK2 then the 14, now im eyeing a 7 and lusting after the BK1.
Its an addiction man!

Thanks for posting, and great shots. I love the look of a fresh BK2.

Depending on your uses, you'll either love it or LOVE LOVE it. With a 14 and 9 in your future, you're going to be more metal than man!

Welcome to the forum!

Excellent choice on the 2. If I had to pick one knife to last for the rest of my life, The 2 would be it.
