My first Becker (and REAL knife)

I have never been huge into knives but after taking hiking back up after my divorce started I knew I had to get a good knife to take on my hikes and to use for when I eventually get the opportunity to go camping again. So I started with a cheap stainless steel fixed blade from a big box store. The more I used it, the more I realized I needed a quality piece of steel that actually worked.

Enter a long month or so browsing forums and reading reviews and watching a lot of YouTube videos about various knives.

After a strenuous elimination process I finally decided on the BK-7 (the final deciding factor being Chris from PreparedMind101 bragging so much on Jessica).

Sorry for being so verbose here but this blade has made me a die hard Becker fan and i plan on adding a 9 and either a 10 or 16 to my collection very soon. Freya does all I need her to do and more. The quality and ergonomics of her are second to none in my opinion. I can't say enough positive things about this knife. Thanks Ethan for designing such remarkable blades that someone on a budget can afford and not have to skimp on quality in the process.

Definitely a life long Becker backer now!

Out of the box a few trips out before customization:

Nice one and welcom to the forums. Id consider some of the smaller blades as well: 17 or 16 and 14 to go with that 7. Cool that you ot one of the older stamped versions. i perfer those myself

Well Alright! Another Beckerhead gonna be! I hope you're ready for a lot of new steel and mods, mods, mods.
You definitely need a 14, 16 & 9 to go with your 7. That'll probably get you through this summer. Then you're gonna need the fall classic 15 & 5 to get you to Christmas. But make sure you are good all year so Santa can put a minty 6 under your tree.:D:D:D

Thanks for all the responses. I am definitely addicted to these knives now. I find that the more I look around at other makers, I always go back to looking for another Becker to add instead. Next week's payday I believe is already calling me to the knife shop to get my second Becker lol. Now just to decide if I want to get a smaller one or go ahead and get that 9 I've been thinking about all week.

It's a great start, welcome to the crew. Congratulations or sorry to hear about the divorce, whichever applies.

Welcome to the addiction!:) The next thing for you to do is to decide which becker knife will you get:D
