Thanks again for the helpful suggestions on getting the BK9.

I haven't put it through it's paces yet, but will get to it soon enough.

Funny thing happened on my way out to my back yard after I received it though.

As I was walking up to one of my trees in the yard, it just suddenly fell over, I'm assuming out of pure fear from seeing the BK9... just kidding, obviously.

Here's the first pic, well, second, the first one was a bit out of focus.

WELCOME !!!!....... Thanks for buying a Becker blade....... I really hope you enjoy using your Nine and that it works well for you...... Let us know how you like it after getting in a little "dirt time" with the beast......

That's a bummer you didn't get to chop it down first :D

Great first Becker. Now try a 14

you are not wrong in assuming that tree fell from seeing the 9. The King is known for inspiring terror on them.

The BK9 was my first Becker knife as well. It serves as my EDC under most circumstances.

Unfortunately now all future Beckers will seem tiny in comparison due to your being spoiled by the King.

Very cool man!! Congrats! The nine is a beast of a blade but handles very nicely.

Awesome picture......... that Nine looks so serious...... tell him to lighten up and smile a little. lol

You are gonna love it.
Alwaysoutdoors has my other 9 right now.
It worked now he wants one for himself.
He's not in a rush to return it either.

Good Lord son did you offer over your wife as well ?

Joking....no a-fence meant. ; )

Oh and to the OP the 9 is a stud of a knife isn't it.

Just after a few hours with the BK9, I have a feeling this knife will not be far out of reach during my back yard bushcrafting. It was splitting and chopping like a champ yesterday. The old tree that fell a year and a half ago is pretty tough wood too. It's a decorative bradford pear, and has also had some wood insect damage, but the BK9 was tearing right through it without much effort.

I'm not sure if I'm keeping the coating on yet or not, but for now, it's staying as is, for at least the next few weeks, then I'll make a decision. I think I may end up getting some new pants for it in the near future though. I'm thinking a grizzly-outdoors kydex in OD green. HMMM.

Here's a pic after day 1 and quite of bit of punishment. The edge is still razor sharp. I love it!

It's been great so far. Just tore through a bunch of pine today to get some free fat wood. Thanks!
