Last year, I was given a BK3 TacTool. I used it in many sitiations where I needed a sold beast to do the work. This piece worked great for chopping kindling wood and for prying where prying may be needed. I messed around with some paracord on the handle and decided I didnt want to add the extra buld to the grip, so I left just a short bit of the end wrapped.
Here is the BK3 as I currently have it. The most use I get from it is using it to help reach across the car to unlock the passenger side.
BK3.. the TacTool
Here is my BK11 and I've been scanning the boards for a while on ideas to cover the handle. I decided to go with a turk head style wrap. This is my first attempt at it, and I will be improving.. but for concept reasons, here you are..
That was fully wrapped, in pocket mode. It features a fall safety that will catch if the knife happens to fall from its home.
The next picture is basically showing the starting point idea I wanted for covering the terribly ergonomic handle, while adding a lanyard...
This week, I will be removing all of the 220 cord from the handle and using either black or dark grey 550 cord to wrap the same pattern, but with an extra pass to fill in the voids. This grips on there are incredibly tight and secures a lanyard with no other fixed points. My guess, so far, is that I have about 20 feet of usable cord in the handle if I happened to need it.
This is my first post... feedback? I also have a BK2 that sits at my belt with no modifications..
