So I just got back from the mailbox and my very first Becker was here already. A BK-2 with glow in the dark scales. The seller sent it in it's box with the original handle scales as well. I snapped a couple of quick pics...

These handles really glow. You can see it even in the daylight after about 45 seconds of direct sun.

This one is in a slightly darker room.

After having the knife in my possession for about 10 min I can already tell I'm going to have trouble not going after the whole Becker line. This thing is rugged and overbuilt. Definitely looking forward to giving it a few beauty marks. It's a little on the dull side (won't slice paper) but the edge grinds are even and I think a little time on the Sharpmaker should do the trick.

Looking forward to participating here and joining the Beckerheads :)

DAMN those are some bad-ass scales, I want some....

were can I get me a pair?

Thanks for the pics

Thanks for the comments! The handles have a matte finish to them, not polished. They feel pretty dense. I'm kind of at a loss as to just what they feel like but think of a bouncy ball, like for playing jacks, but one of the bigger ones that are a handful and kind of opaque. And then think of it being hard instead of rubbery. Kind of like that......yeah....

I saw this BK2 on ebay a few days ago. I was wondering how they would hold up under heavy abuse/diry hands/gloves etc. That being said they look so badass I don't even care I just want me some.

I actually looked into getting some of that handle material because I wanted to make handle liners out it (didn't find any). Maybe that's going to be my next project.

Jordan,

If you find some and make liners please share pics! Bark River will sometimes to GITD spacers and I asked Mike Stewart about doing liners and I don't think was able to get the right cut of material. That would look really great though.

Ok, 1) AWESOME KNIFE!!! 2) AWESOME SCALES!!! 3) AWESOME KNIFE!!!!!

Very cool setup, and I have to admit, I wants me some glowy scales, for sure. :D

Glad you like the knife, Clown, glad you like the knife.

Stick around, you're pretty close to becoming, ONE OF US.

Sweet scales!
Checked the seller on ebay........ack! $35 shipping to Canada for 2 scales?
:grumpy:
D'oh! Well i guess i'll forget about that idea.
Still they are cool so enjoy!

Depending on certain ideas that are floating around, there may be something in the semi near future that fits the bill...

No Zombie Appocolypse kit should be without those scales. I'm a cheap bastard and I hate to pay more for scales when the factory ones serve me well. But those glow worms are a gotta have!

Those scales are sweet!!!

I gotta ask, what does glow in the dark scales have to do with a zombie apocalypse?!?

Maybe the power is out, and you need to find your knife to baton through a Zombie's head.

I'd like to see that glow material as liners as well. Or, there's some GITD material from Shadetree Phenolics, Andy from Fiddleback has used it. It's more marbled in apperance.
