My First Becker---The BK9

I received my first Becker, a KaBar-manufactured BK9, from New Graham knives recently. For a very low price shipped, such a knife with 1095 made in the United States of America with such quality and fit and finish is incredible!

I have not yet been out to thoroughly test it---the temperatures here in Ohio are now in the negatives (Fahrenheit), so it hasn't been too warm or convenient to go out and baton and chop.

It is a wonderfully balanced knife, and I love the blade's grind and wicked-sharp factory edge. The handle is ergonomically perfect for me; I give it a serious thumbs-up.

I'm sure this is nothing new to all of you Becker fans, but I wanted to drop a line on how impressed I am---this will definitely not be my last! I already have a Necker on order. :D

God bless.

KATN,

Wade

I have a Camillus BK9 and feel the same way about it that you feel about the new Ka Bar version.

So glad that Ethan Becker pursued his vision and re-released his great line of knives.

Becker Knives are addictive. I've been accumulating knives for decades. I don't have any of the new Ka-Bar Beckers, but a number of the Camillus ones.
My first was the BK10, Then the 9 and since I had the bowie and crewman I had to get the 7. Then 2 neckers... Then a campion came up at a good price...
I couldn't help it. I like American made cutlery.

Hello Ethan.
I've used my BK9 for 2 months now and what a good tough chopper for the money. Companion knife is a nice addition to round out function.
Have not used it hunting yet but it reminds me of some of the large butcher/fleshing knives I used to use on the line (I don't call myself the butcher due to ego, worked in slaughterhouses from 14 to 27 years old.) For processing cuts/steaks and trimming silverskin it would do very well. I can't say that about my trailmaster and some of my other bowies.
with regards
Brad

Hey Brad.....

Thanks for the kind words....They do mean a lot from someone who has dragged a blade through that much meat for that long !!!....Always good for my ego(lol)....keep checking in please....

All Best....
