While on my two week trip to canada, my buddy pointed out a billboard sign for Smokey Mountain Knifeworks in Tennessee. So of course we stopped. Ive been eyeballin the BK11 for a while now and like most people, wanted to handle it before i bought it. Well they had it, i handled it, and undoubtedly bought it. I wanted the scales with it but didnt want to pay an extra 30 right now so for now ill wrap it. Ill post a pic soon but photobucket is messing up.

Now I'm scared. Was looking in the scars thread and beckers (along with yours) seem to like to bite people. Haha. Guess that just means they actually get used.

I've got 3 (BK2, BK7, & a BK12 [aka Ritter Perseverance]) so far. They are addictive. Someone posted that Beckers are like potato chips - you can't have just one. That is a spot-on observation. ;)

Enjoy your BK11. It is a nice choice.

Lol - one of those BK11 bite pics was mine. The sad thing is - I'm not 100% sure how I screwed that one up.

The BK11 was my very first also, and as an FYI the scales are definitely worth the money. Beckers do bite sometimes, but they always seem to heal up good ;)

It was a hard decision between this one and the d2 model. I forget what model number that one is. I really wanted the d2 but i like the shape and handle better on this 11.

Also i will get the scales soon. Ive already wrapped it but i dont like it as much as the micarta. The employee let me feel the knife with the scales and i loved it. Soon.

the 11 is a great knife and the micarta makes it even better !! congrats on the new blade!
