My first Becker

So after reading so many good things about Beckers I decided a BK7 would be my first. After running to the mail box after work everyday like a 8 year old waiting for a secret decoder ring it finally came in. After opening the box I thought it seemed a little small, after turning it over I saw BK17 and sighed some relief. I gave the company the option for me to buy the BK17 and still ship the BK7 I ordered since I really like the little fellow. So begins what looks like the start of a new collection of things that will make my life complete. I have some questions for some more experienced Becker people.

1. Do I need to cut my thumb wide open with every Becker or just one?
2. How do I explain to loved ones why all these attractive women want to know how thick my Becker is?
3. Since the sun will come up brighter for me tomorrow, am I the reason for global warming?
4. Do you store your Becker in the paper sheath provided to help prevent rust?
5. In the woods when you come across a bear do they simply nod their head and walk the other way, or should I still carry bear mace?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated, and these questions are not in order of importance.

1. No. It's not required but if it happens you MUST post pics.
2. If anyone wants to know why you're getting so much attention, just offer to show them your Becker. That'll either end the conversation or you'll make a new Beckerhead.
3. Yes, but that's ok - tradewater will fix it.
4. No, that's just silly.
5. No. Bears have all heard the Kabar story and know better.
