I've owned probably hundreds of knives but never a Becker until today.

It's a used Camillus BK-7 acquired in a trade here on the forums. Got the original sheath plus a kydex one as well. I'm loving it so far. Very simple, rugged and no nonsense. The size and design seems perfect for a general purpose fixed blade.

Did some yard work with it yesterday evening. Cleared some brush, chopped down some saplings, limbed them, skinned them and carved some spears. The BK7 seems to perform bigger than it is, yet performs finer tasks with ease as well.

Today, I removed the scales, cleaned it, and lightly sanded it to even out the finish. Gave the whole thing a good coating of mineral oil and wrapped the scales in tennis racket tape. I love the shape of the scales and they feel really nice with a little more grip.

I etched the logo first for four hours, used Dupli Color stripper(not the best by any means) and then started on it with 150grit.

Looks like you both came out ahead! That doesn't happen very often. :D

Congrats on a couple if great looking blades!!!

That's a good trade! I love the patina on that 7 and the etching on the RTAK looks great.

Congrats one the Becker! It's a great blade and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
