Got my first Becker yesterday:

A Ka-Bar BK7. I got it off a member here-brand new, old style coating and sheath. I really like it, but a new sheath will be in my future! Any suggestions on aftermarket sheaths, or should I just order the newer style that Ka-Bar now supplies with these?

A BK2 may also be in my future, too, but I have not decided 100% on that yet. I'm definitely going to get an Esee 5, but I may also get the BK2 to feed my new knife obsession.

As long as I'm posting pics, some of you may find this funny. My niece and I went to a concert the other day (Miss May I & August Burns Red), and they were passing these out as we walked in:

...and unfortunately they were enforcing it with security guards in the crowd. Every time the pit would start they would get in and break it up. It was still a good concert, though.

Thanks. That's very likely to happen as the local knife shop has the BK2 in stock, and it costs less that the ESEE 5, so I'll need to wait a little bit to get the ESEE.

Got to agree with the lads, grab the BK2 and consider a BK16. As for the sheath I suppose It depends on your preference, for me I like leather, the nylon ones are good for what they are and reasonably cheap.

If you need to save for leather, I think you can pick up the newer sheath for 20 something dollars. I don't mind them at all, and welcome.

Yeah, after much thought (well, actually, little-to-no thought), I am going to get both. First the BK2, and then the ESEE 5. I am going to give the stock sheath a chance for a bit, but I'd really like a kydex sheath with good retention. I know there's a few options out there, but they cost almost as much as the knife, so perhaps I'll just see if the stock sheath grows on me.

I started with the 7 too. Get the 2 then a tweener and then a ...........
It just keeps going.
Congrats and welcome to the addiction.
