Hello folks-

I've been in the market for a Becker for a while now, and I wanted to report that I just took possession of my first one ever not 15 minutes ago.

It's a BK9 and it looks bad a$$!!!

I like chopping and battoning stuff for utilitarian reasons as well as for fun and exercise.

I can wait to get out and use it this weekend.

To strip or not to strip (the coating), that is the question.

That is all.

Beanbag out.

Um.........I think we are gonna need some pictures.......yaaa...thanks.

Why did you start out with the teeny weeny BK9? I personally would not strip until most of the coating is worn off, but others may disagree.

I am stripping the coating off my BK11 and BK2.

By smashing them into things. Repeatedly. On a regular basis.

good choice... now you're to need a bk5 :D

Despite what they say, I'm pretty sure size does matter.

Wooden things, right?

Congrats, you got a damn good choppa there. I love mine, you should think about beating that paint up a little before you post anymore pics. Everyone gets a free "pretty pic" after that, we need to seem some roughed up pics.

Once again, congrats.

The BK-9 is a little big for most of my needs these days, but it is a chopping machine.

This purchase was definitely not about my needs. It was all about my wants, and I wanted a big 'ole chopper!!:D

One other thing, these puppies are priced right.

Hey man, we only live once...or at least we only get to know about once at a time...wants are important too :) The Bk-9 is definitely a fine chopper

My first Becker was the BK 9 and I've found it to be a very useful tool. It chops real well, that's true enough but what I've found is it also does a great job on chores normally in the range of a smaller knife, I didn't expect that. Possibly because I haven't had a big knife before. Im impressed everytime I take it and use it . I do need Micarta for it though.

Your first becker? Yeah right :)...there will be many firsts I foresee in your future. Your first BK2, your first BK5, your first BK11....

Welcome Beanbag.....

I do hope you find your Nine to be useful.......It will as Oregon Fal'er says do a pretty decent job on little stuff as well as chop....It IS hard to do fine tip work....But the purchase of a Necker will take care of that little problem...LOL.......

Thanks for buying a Becker and let us know what you like about it (and what you do not) after you get a chance to use it....Be sure to take a camera and take pix as the denizens here seem yo require them for sustenance....LOL......

Again Welcome.....
