I picked up a BK14 a while back and fell in love with it. It got a little lonely, so I decided to go for its big brother too, and picked up a BK2. Some stripping, some sanding, and some patina-ing later, and here they are:

Here's the BK2, splitting some firewood like a champ:

Of course, the BK14 had to join in with the smaller stuff:

They look pretty good together :D

Looks like a Power Couple to me!

I keep seeing how awesome the 14 handle looks stripped and patinaed. I may have to go ahead and strip mine's handle too. But the black looks so good with the orange LOL

Nice pair..! Haha

I want a 14 but have been scolded by the gf for my recent knife buying spurt.

Thanks for sharing

Much better, Looks good. I really like the nice dark patina!

Thanks! Mustard and vinegar, a couple applications each, only took about half an hour to set in.

I was considering leaving the handle coated, if I had it wrapped with orange I totally would've left it coated too!

I bought the 14 right before I got scolded myself :D

You still live in MN? This state needs another beckerhead, to my knowledge I'm the only one(could be wrong).

MPLS area

You really have done a nice job with your new Beckers.

Wow...I just looked at the map and there are no Beckerheads in Nevada. Hopefully, I can be the first. Somehow I gotta come up with useful posts! I get my new Beckers this week so I am hoping that will give me something good to post about.

Thanks! And you'll have to post some pics when you get them and put them to work...

I'm in MN
not a beckerhead though

Better hurry up, or MNpride will beat you to second place ;)

I'm actually in Chicago, but all my family's in Minnesota and always will be... I have to represent my roots!

ya need to order some zytel for that 14...makes it like a whole new critter! Def better then the 550, although if I was wantin to conceal mine as a neck-knife I would go back to 550 or even nothing. The zytel makes a slightly thicker profile, it ''prints'' thru a t-shirt.

I actually put a belt clip on the BK14 sheath, it wouldn't be under my shirt so I wouldn't mind putting some scales on it... now I want scales like those, they look nice

Well then looks like jake is the going to be the next BH from MN :)

Jake, there are a ton of places round here(I'm sure you already know some) for getting outside and using the beckers. PM/email me if you want help finding some outa the way areas to hike/practice bushcraft.
