I first started looking at knives while trying to find a solid survival knife. I ended up choosing the Ka-Bar D2 Extreme Fighting/Utility knife. While I love that thing - especially during our pig roasts - I wished later for something with a full tang rather than a fattened rat tail. I found this forum and discovered all sorts of wonderful knives.

I live overseas, so I had to wait until my next trip to the States to pick up my order. Waiting for me were a BK2, BK3, BK7, and a Sharpmaker. For folders I also got a little Sebenza and a ZT 551. It was like Christmas.

I love the Beckers, though I did have a hard time figuring out how to sharpen that chisel grind on the BK3. Now I want some tweeners, the Machax, and the 9. I think my fiancée is going to kill me.

My only regret was getting the ZT 551 instead of a large Sebenza to go with the small. The ZT is fantastic, but I just love the simplicity, styling, and blade on that Seb.

Next time :-)

:-D

In the top I managed to get some of my TAD Litespeed in there, which I also picked up.

Solid little family of steel you got going there, which do you use (or anticipate to use) more the BK-7 or the -2 ?

My gut is telling me the 7. I really loved my D2 Ka-Bar and the 7 feels similar in my hand. The 2 feels more like a tank I'd use for chopping through an engine block or something. Maybe I just need to get used to it. Time will tell...

That's a good looking group of blades!
Congrats on your first Beckers and welcome to the forum!
