Hey guys,
I don't post a ton here, I'm mostly a reader. Not for a lack of wanting to post, but I just don't have near the background and knowledge that many of you guys have, so I'm still learning.
Anyway, I bought my first Benchmade today. I picked up a Mini Grip with a plain edge. I've got a few Spydercos and a few Bucks, but I've always wondered about the Benchmades. From the recommendations you guys have indicated in various posts in the past, this seemed to be a perfect introduction to BM and the Axis lock.
I can't afford spending more than $100-125 on a knife, so this seemed to fit the bill just right. My knives are used everyday. While they aren't abused, they do get dirty, dropped, scratched, etc. I need something I can count on to be a perfectly functioning tool, regardless of the conditions I'm in. That's mostly why I like the Spydercos, with the easy to disassemble Torx screws holding the knife together.
In closing, I'm sure I'll be happy with the Mini Grip. I have a feeling that this won't be my last BM. I also have a feeling that I may be cutting back (pun intended) on some things to better fund my next blade purchase, a Mini Rukus.
Anyhow, thanks to all who've posted their thoughts and suggestions in helping not only this new guy, but the many others, make wise purchases.
Cheers all,
S.
