I got my first Benchmade from a trade today, it is a 741 Onslaught. The first thing that struck me was this thing is HUGE.

The blade is elegant, but I was hesitant at first because I find it odd owning a benchmade with a hole rather than a stud. The blade is flat ground 154cm. Grinding lines are flawless and the bevel is perfectly even which is quite a feat in my mind.

The handle is smooth g-10. I love the look and feel of smooth g-10 and carbon fiber, again a word that comes to mind is elegant.

It is very smooth and locks up tight. Fit and finish is Flawless. Good job Benchmade, I will most definitely buy more knives from you guys!

Of course this is worthless with out pics!

This picture compares the 741 to the Titanium military and cf caly 3. It is BIGGER than the military!

Congrats on your trade. The benchmades I own are all flawless knives that perform extremely well. My favorite is the sequel that I frequently edc. Benchmades quality control seems to be top notch. I know that some members here on the forums have had minor issue but I believe most of thosehave been taken care of via BM warranty. Mostly I think people have had issue with the Jupiter springs on the axis locks.

I carry the 741 in a belt sheath most everyday. Love the grip, lock, smoothness, thin blade and it's size.

Good to hear about their quality control! I'm thinking about picking up a 710 next.

Jill, Great picutre. I agree with you on all of your points.

Damn that sucker is big, hehe. Anyway glad you like your new Benchmade.

Congrats, the Onslaught looks like another great knife from Benchmade.

Great knife. I had to trade mine. I got a new knife itch and had to scratch it. If not I would have it still. Big but very nice to carry. It is a fantastic slicer.

I think it would look much better if they got rid of that swedge.

Not a Benchmade guy , but that is a sweet looking knife. The G10 does look really nice :)

I'll definitely be picking up some more bm knives in the future.

Completely agree.

Don't agree with this. the swedge adds character and terminates in a nice, fine point. I'm very pleased with it.

Well I look at the 2nd picture, and the swedge is darkened out. To me, the bright body of the blade looks like what the blade should have been. The swedge looks like an out-of-place mohawk to me; I look like this when I see it lol:

I see what you're saying i think. You don't like the "hump"?

The 741 is modeled after Bob Lum's forester model and I appreciate that Benchmade stuck to the original design for the most part.

I think without that hump, it would look pretty good too, but I can assure you I'm not grinding it off :D
