So i just got my first Benchmade today and i absolutly love it. Its the Sequel. It is also my first axis lock knife and i cannot believe how smooth this knife is. It opens and closes like butter. this is going to be my new edc knife since i gave my Kershaw Clash to my father. So on with the pics

Good luck with it.
Benchmade makes a very nice product. I'm sure it won't be your last BM.

im sure it wont be my last either. i am extremely impressed with it. what a step up from kershaw

Don't forget your Kershaw Clash was only ~$20 and one of their base line knives. I wouldn't consider Benchmade a "step up" from Kershaw, as they are both high quality knife companies.

Congrats to that nice knife!

I have a BM Gripi for real (!!) EDC. Love that knife. I´m also impressed by BM... I´m sure, you´ll really like that one...

Kind regards...

Another sick Axis addiction starting right before our eyes :D

Congrats on your purchase Benchmade makes a damn fine knife, watch your wallet though

The 707 is def one of my favorite benchmades, and if I had never found out about frame locks I would still be carring that exact model today.

It's a great size and ergonomic, perfect for an EDC.

thanks for the kind words guys. i noticed that when i was playing with it the pivot screw was getting loose pretty rapidly. so i went and got some blue threadlocker and put one drop on the pivot screw. now the knife is a little hard to open but it was the only position for the screw so there wouldnt be any blade play. will the blade loosen up eventually after it breaks in?

It's a very slight adjustment to find the right spot. If it's too tight , then back it off a hair ( barely move the pivot).

there is even a ever so slight bit of play and its still a little tough to open and close. what i mean by tough is that the blade doesnt swing freely when the lock isnt engaged. there is quite a bit of drag

It can be tricky to find the sweet spot where there is no play and smooth action. I prefer no play before a free swinging blade. I use teflon tape instead of glue. No waiting for it to dry and much easier to remove. I use teflon tape on several of my Benchmades, but my 707 has not needed any adjustements yet.

it should loosen up as the washers break in, but you should be able to adjust the pivot to where is opens smoothly without any play.
I'll take a look at one of my BM's tonight when I get home from work. I have a few with the Axis lock.

I checked my 732 , it's similar but with full G10 scales. The blade will open by either a flick of my thumb or by pulling back on the lock and giving a flick of the wrist. I can not detect any play.
