My first BK-2 mods

This was my first Becker purchased at a local knife store here in Cincinnati. I didn't know much about the Becker line at the time but, my brother had one that he liked a lot. I found this site and all the modifications everyone does. So I started to tinker with stripping the factory finish and polished it to a mirror shine and then added some patina with vinegar. Later I decided to make it into a convex edge and then put a brown mustard patina on it after. I really like the look now.

Welcome Paul. You did a great job on that. You know you are infected now right? Cro-Van virus.
 
Nice looking mods, I have a near mirror polished bk2 that I will be putting a satin on as soon as my scotch brite belt lands.
But this thread is making me rethink that idea.

Did you use Cherry red rit?
Looks like a similar color on my micarta. Nice Job!
 
I was noticing the same... Looks like the micarta on my 11...



The scales are from the bk11AZ run, if that helps to imply a date. My other micarta (full and tweener) are more olive



After posting this... It's harder to see in pics but easily visible difference in person.

Is that a modified bk7 or 12?
 
It's a 12 with a straight spine.
Jimping is started, really want to do away with the guard thingy...so ugly lol

I like how that looks...I hated look bc of the ramp on the 12, but seeing this I like how it looks modified. May get this instead of the 7 since I prefer a drop point anyway.
 
I stayed away from the 7 for a long time because I had the 12. I picked one up recently... Kinda...in a trade. I gotta say tho, that I really like the 7, having never handled one before getting this one. Can't say ones better than the other so if you prefer a drop point...go for it, I'm really very attached to it.

Recently added the VZ scales that work really nice...
