Hey Beckerheads,

I just got my first Becker, a BK-7. Ive been reading up on all the mods that are being done and figured I could do it, so today I stripped the black.

After the finish came off, I cleaned it up with 220,320,600 and 4-O steel wool. I degreased it and put my lettering on it, getting it ready to ech.

After the lettering was on I painted it. Following Cliches posts I peeled off the lettering and set it in the etching solution.

I let it set for about 40 minutes and noticed the paint was coming off in places (should have let the paint set up more) so I pulled it.
I cleaned the blade again, and set up for bluing. After that again following Cliches posts, I set it in the bleach and waited about 45 min, I wanted a light patina.
Well here it is after the final sanding. I think it came out great.

I purchased a pair of the Shady Camo scales from Jim62, I think they will set it off great, I am also making a leather sheath for it. I will post more pic's when It's all finished. Thanks for checking it out.

Very nice. That looks awesome. The edges on the lettering turned out really crisp. One of the better ones I've seen.

that is great. Nice letter font, great sentiment, etch came out crisp.....love the light bleaching, sort of an ''antiqued'' patina. Excellent work my friend! I cant wait to see the laminate and leather on it!

Im not even a 7 fan....and I like that one!!

Damm all the heavyweights here see it first, Thank you very much gents for the comments, I really appreciate it. It was very cool to do. It wont be my last I can tell you.

I just want to re comment on how crisp the letters turned out. Warrior got it right. Very well done. I love to see this stuff and I'm humbled that I am even mentioned in threads like this when I am just a follower as well. Really everything I've ever done was someone else's idea. But, even so, I'm flattered that my mods inspired others.

Brother your work is what inspired me to get dirty and do it, I thank you for the inspiration.

That turned out sweet buddy, great job.
Thank you much

That looks great and boy did that lettering work out well!
Thank you, the lettering worked very well.

Im right there with you man

You did good. Thanks for posting.
Thank you

I'm curious, is that lettering you purchased somewhere, or do you have a vinyl cutter? I really like that font. I've thought about doing an etching before, but more so with a design of some sort.

I got 115 pounds on Clich LOL

y'all can do the math

Once again...AWESOME JOB!

I'm also bathing a becker tonight...trying out something a lil different (to me)
