Well, not really an adventure, but damn, there is a lot of cool stuff here. I have spoken with Gil Hibben, Kikuo Matsuda(well, our conversation was translated), SOG's owner, and several other notable knife people. And then there was Busse... My first taste of the Busse booth with the other 5000 VIPs left me sort of angry. Anything that even remotely resembled an FBM was purchased in bulk...and I will leave it at that. I had to go check out the rest of the show before I came back to a thinner Busse crowd.

What I found were several really cool people that were down to earth and really excited to be there. Garth went out of his way to come out of the booth and talk to me for a few minutes about everything Busse. That was just plain cool. I took the time to compliment Beef on his blade grinding skills and poke fun at his dual blade get-up made up the smallest two blades in the booth. He explained to me that its all he needs to be a badass. I had no room to disagree. Didn't have a chance to BS with Pokey or Lexi yet, but there is always tomorrow. I met Jaxx, 1whobuys, and a few others, everyone was cool.

And then there was dericdesmond. I had no idea what to expect as we had a somewhat questionable disagreement on reselling practices. Within in the first few minutes of meeting him after having have a black/yellow G10 FBM bounce off my hands all I can say is: what a nice guy. We worked out a trade for the FBM he caught (fair and square mind you) for some of the smaller knife vouchers I caught. I heard a story earlier about him offering up some waki's he was buying to someone else that wanted them. We BS'd for awhile and had a few good laughs.

The Busse mosh pit is not that bad. I saw a small child get knocked around and an elbow cut open (not by a knife), but other than that, its all been tame. Granted, the locker room smell and stuffiness was effecting everyone in the building so hopefully the AC is working better tomorrow. I am putting on extra deodorant just in case. I didn't wait around to see where the after party was, I needed to get some food. Its amazing how long you can go without eating at the Blade show.

See you guys tomorrow!!

Glad you had a good time bro! I NEED to go one of these years. I owe a lot of hogs a lot of beer. Did you find that AK?!

No AK's as of yet and unless they have some older ones laying around in the back waiting to be placed for sale, I doubt I will see one. That new katana caught my eye, it's insane!! I hope to see some FBM's tomorrow and get a chance to buy one. My brother won an ESEE 5 Venom Green today at the ESEE booth. Its a $160 blade and looks pretty cool. I have yet to buy anything :(

On that note, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE A STINKING ATM IS THAT LETS YOU WITHDRAW MORE THAN $200!!!?!?!?!? I have seen 6 ATM's in this area and all have the same stupid limit.

DUDE! WE out a drinkin, were b you! Jock n jills, beer (thanks Mr Busse).

Was a pleasure btw. See ya soon/

They don't call the Busse booths the 'TROUGH' for no reason. I've never actually seen hogs feed, but, the action at the Blade Show trough has to be close!!! Generally the leftover scraps, whether Busse, SwampRat, or Scrapyard are just that.....bacon bits!!! Thing is, alot of it will turn up on the BF exchange soon enough!

That was me he offered up the waki to, nice guy to talk with. Happy you got the FBM ticket off him since it was next to me as well. I have to admit I was highly annoyed by the FBM hogging in the trough, 1 of the things I wanted but did not get an opportunity to snag. Overall it was a good haul, both hawks, leaner meaner, pork shank, super thin RMD and the SAR 4 with gator scales. And I was the 1 with the wounded elbow making sure that guy didn't go all the way over the tables for the card.

Nice scores!

Awesome scores! Sounds like such a great time too...I don't know if i can allow myself to miss another Blade after witnessing all this action!

And yea, Eric is definitely a great guy. Awesome of you to keep us updated with all the pics and taking your time to answer our questions

Havoc- are you goin to post any reviews on the new toys once you have time?

No scores today, there wasn't much left. i will get better pics that are rotated correctly when I get home. I will review what I can, but I am an amateur here, so don't expect me to destroy a phone booth or the neighbor's Prius :)

The Busse party last night was just indescribable. I mean, I have never seen a company treat its customer's so well. They rented out an entire sportsbar for the night for ONLY Busse customer's and their close friends/family. We got there 15 or so minutes after they were letting people in and ended up upstairs in the back. I had no idea I was being inducted into the Hog and Rat families, so I got to make a nice trek to the induction area both times and make an entrance like Paris Hilton. I am now known as "HamHock550" and "HavocRat".

After the very generous buffet and several drinks, the party migrated outside where a firing line full of drunks threw glowing rave rings at beer bottles. I finally got a chance to BS with Pokey while we watched the pandemonium. Some people walked away with some nice store credit prizes, others just walked and/or stumbled back to their hotels. Busse, still taking care of their customers, were calling in taxis for those who needed them. At some point Beef made a pass at me but quickly turned his attention to an older man from Germany. Another Hog told my brother he was the prettier of the two of us, so...umm, yeah. Make sure you are secure in your sexuality if you dare stay after the induction ceremony. Great times!!

I am going to take a nap now, I am not hungover, but damn tired.
