I met a lot of outstanding people at the BLADE SHOW over the weekend, but maybe the nicest was John C. Howser, custom knifemaker from Frankfort, Kentucky.
We really seemed to hit it off, and I had trouble deciding which of his beautiful knives to purchase, but this one came out winners.

Elliott, Jerry Halfrich and Lee Grogan all had very nice things to say about both John and this knife (i.e. " . . . a LOT of knife for the money!").
See what you think for yourself; I couldn't be happier. :D

Genuine natural stag lockback trapper with stainless raindrop damascus swedged clip, leather lanyard and slipcase.
Length closed is 4 inches, open 7-1/8 inches, and it weighs 3-9/16 ounces.
Blade lays perfect center, very even grinds, and makes an incredible "ting" when it locks up.
Mr. Howser and myself have decided, being soft-spoken gentlemen, to call this a chess piece shield. There . . . :p

Great stag and I love the blade. I am very sorry I missed you and so many others, but ya did great.

What a beautiful folder. I'd say you've started off your Blade Show trophy case collection in top shelf style.

WHOA MOMMA!

There's a new definition of what a pretty knife is.
Congratulations!

Great looking folder. The design of the damascus looks great with the stag. Drooling with jealousy...

Mercy!!!
Thats an awesome piece right there:thumbup:

Man, I missed meating most all you folks. My mind just goes when I walk in the place of friday...sensory overload for me,lol.

Congrats again on that fine knife. You have a good eye and it will serve you well, no doubt.

John certainly makes a nice knife and his prices are beyond reasonable.

Great meeting you at the show!

Nice one Black M! A trophy to remind you well of your first Blade purchase!!

What a trophy to bring home from the Blade Show!!! If you'd of looked for a hundred years, I don't think you could have found a better piece of stag.

The damascus is simply stunning. It stands out but isn't busy if you know what I mean. Very prominent yet subtle at the same time. Beautiful.:D

That's a knockout knife! I really like the stag/damascus combo!
