Hey all,
Last evening, I made my first kill with my bow! A nice Muley doe walked out of the woods about 30 yards from me and I took the shot. She went about 50 yards and went down for the count. I had such a freakin adrenunlin rush I forgot to even take pictures and now it's too late. She's all bagged up and in the fridge right now. I'm so psyched I just had to share!

:thumbup:Congrats. Since I am the first to respond to your post, you may send me a pound of venison jerky.:D.

Nevermind. Didn't get it all typed in time. Send it to Mr. Newberry instead.

Congrats! U will never be the same. Now, when you take up a gun and see how simple it is, compared to the close quarters, pressure, timing and accuracy a bow kill demands, you may often times choose to hunt with a bow, even during rifle season. It is, indeed, a whole different game and, when played well, incredibly rewarding.

And, no matter how long from now, when you hear someone else tells their story of their first, you will remember exactly what yours felt like, all over again--just like your story did for me. Thanks.

Thanks to all! hebegb-I know now exactly what you are speaking about. Archery is so much more of an experience than firearms. I love my guns and always want for more, but I will always seek my deer with a bow from now on. If I fail with a bow, there is always gun season to fall back on.

Inspirational, guys, thanks for sharing. I'm hunting black bear and deer with my traditional recurve for the very first time this season. Nervous and excited all at the same time.

Professor.

Congrats! I got my first bowkill last year. It is very addicting, and I'm sure you replay the shot in your head over and over again. Enjoy the tasty meat.

Awesome job, brother, enjoy that harvest, I'm sure there will be many more. Just don't shoot any mooses. Moose

nice!!!!! i shot my first buck this week with a pre 64 winnie model 94. never felt better.

Congratulations! I remember that feeling! I hope you enjoy the pleasures of bowhunting for as long as you desire.

I put the compound bows away and got my first traditional bow kills last season and they were very satisfying.

I whiffed on opening morning this season (I was wound up tighter than a guitar string... it still is that exciting to me) and I hope to redeem myself tomorrow.

Good hunting,
desmobob

Congrats! :thumbup

And "you don't have a photo at the moment of the truth" is my own Murphy's law, which seems to hold in case of you too, Balding :D
