With my new "Knifemaker" account I thought I would post a picture of my first Bowie.

I posted some of these picts in Shop Talk previously :)

I won a W2 Forge blank from Fred Rowe's contest awhile back.

I got down to business and tried my hand at bringing out a no clay Hamon ala Wheeler.

I gave it a Gabon Ebony Coffin Handle and a Stainless Guard

Forgive the lousy picts.

That's a very nicely shaped coffin handle. I like the blade profile as well.
Very clean overall. :thumbup::thumbup:

For a while, all I could think about when it came to blades were Wharncliffes. Lately, the blade I think about the most is a Bowie. Yours' is a stunning example of why that is so. As Crocodile Dundee would say: "Now that's a knife." It's gorgeous. Kudos.

Thanks a lot everyone.

I am glad I am not the only one that likes it :)

Nice work and great choice on the Gabon ebony for the coffin handle.
I gotta' say clean and well executed, too.
You did VERY good ! :D

Brilliant job for your first bowie.

Coffin handles aren't easy to get right but you've done a great job with that one.

Much appreciated!

I really like a good coffin handle on a Bowie so I put a lot of thought into it. Such a simple design but seems so right for a Bowie.
