this was my first knife even though it's not real, it killed a lot of fake bad guys in my backyard when i was a little kid. my dad made it for me when I was about 6. it is the exact size of a western w49. after that I had tons of pocket knives and things but then when I was 13 my dad gave me my first real bowie knife, it was a western w49, now i have 6 western w49 bowies.

Does it say who made it?

Thats got an awful lot of pieces considering it was to be a toy. 1 or 2 would have done it.

It says his dad made it. I'd imagine its a treasured piece considering all the love that went into it. If I had a boy who wanted to hunt out west I' certainly take a lot of care in making his knife. I think that's a lovely gesture.

Yes my dad made it, it is made exactly as a real knife except it is wood. he made the blade, the guard, the handle.

Missed that part concerning your dad - apologies.

Does show an abundance of carring and love, though.

Jimbowie, that is incredible and is a story that should be written up as a poem or a song like Guy Clark's "Randall Knife".
