Today I was walkin around K-Mart when I saw a Buck 110 in the Sports Dept.I thought hmmm... I'm gonna get one.I've loved knives for as long as I can remember but I just never had gotten a Buck.Funny thing is,I asked the clerk to let me see the packaged knife and she said,"Are we 18?" I then said "NO,we're(being me)22".
Anyway,I'm settin in my car trying to open this damn thing up when I think to myself, "Use your knife dummy".So I get my Spydie Military out and slice that packaging up finally getting the knife out. When I first handled the knife I noticed how heavy it was and how nice it was made.I pulled the blade out and was really surprised how tight the lock-up was!It was Solid.I also liked the sheath which appears to be well made.I just wanted to take the time and say that I really like this knife,I now know why it's a Classic.I might even have to get one with finger-grooves.

Thanks,

Welcome aboard Bobby. You're obviously a smart man, a Spydie Military and a Buck 110...just like me, LOL! The 110 is a classic and will probably last you a lifetime. Enjoy your new knife.

Funny, I never get carded any more when I buy a knife. I guess I look too old.

Your description of you buy mirrors mine almost exactly. I got mine at a sporting goods store in the plastic-covered package. The clerk later tried to help me open it with his Endura but the plastic was too stiff and hard for him.
I trusted Buck enough to buy a knife in an unopened package, and I was not disappointed. The only other manufacturer I can trust like that is Victorinox. The 110 walks and talks strongly, and after carrying only lightweight folders for a long time, it felt funny at first with the weight and thickness, but I've come to like that as much as any lightweight knife.
I know of people who have had their 110 for decades of use. That says a lot for the design and for Buck quality. And besides, if I mess mine up, I can either just get another one cheaply, or get it fixed or replaced by Buck (I live not far from the factory).
