I want to start off by saying thank you to Roenman for selling me an excellent knife that was totally as advertised (and more).

I decided to put the Mistress to work and wanted to post a few action pics for all of you who gave me the information (on this forum) to make this purchase!

The knife is amazing. Great ergonomics, razor sharp and you can tell by holding this, it is a serious knife. Im very happy.

Pics are as follows: sheet metal, toaster, log, the blade

Nice, congrats on your new blade. Nice pics, good to see one getting put through some hard use!

I love the handles, they look great! Looks like you really gave it a work out, congrats

A mistress doing what she was designed for Tearing it Up!!!! Nice Score....

Thanks all! I was a special order handle, so I was told it's a one off.... Rob did you do a you tube video??....
I wanted to thank everyone for all of the info on these threads. I am new to knife collecting/thrashing (lol), and I was convinced to buy a Busse from all of you. The "following" of these knives are incredible and I can see why now-- best knife I've ever handled.

Yes I did! In fact I believe my video is the first video proof of a production ASHBM -- I'm very close to allowing myself to get real dirty -- I've enjoyed a lengthy period of admiring it's untouched beauty.

Nice knife! Welcome to the madness.

By the way, what is that white stuff on the ground outside your house??:D

You're right -- I'm tired of being a gentleman. This weekend I'm gonna kick a few brewskies back and beat my mistress from dusk till dawn -- might chop with my ASHBM too if I get time --- lol ;) juuuuuust kidding

Nice. I watched that video about 18 times before and after buying the knife lol... I can feel your pain of not wanting to use yours-- it is such a beautiful knife-- You could always kick the crap out of it and if you regret it just have it refinished :)
When did you get it? When I looked (in March) they didn't have the choiless option

Lol... How do you strip it?? Has anyone ever done that before?? Does it turn out exactly like the satin finish on the LE??

Awesome! Love those.......red,black and tan?? scales. Whatever they are, they look nice.

Yes it is those colours. I bought it on the second hand market and apparently the guy that I bought it from told me that someone ordered it from Busse and couldn't afford to pay for it. Those colours aren't even available on the website so Im not sure how they got it.

Congrats, and welcome to our madness.

There are many, many threads about stripping, so 'Search' is your friend. In short, No, it will not turn out exactly like satin. Busse has to charge more for the satin knives because there is more work in them to create that nice finish. To be blunt, the paint can hide many sins. That is not a complaint; I tend to buy CG knives for users and strip them to apply my own 'ghetto satin' because I am cheap, and IMO the ghetto satin compliments the tough, no nonsense ethos of Busse. Some coated Busses, when stripped, are positively fugly. The ASHBM tend to look better than other Busse blades when stripped because they have been flat ground. IIRC, there were some threads showing stripped ASHBMs.

Thanks for the info and the welcome. I actually read quite a few of your posts before making my purchase :)
Do you happen to know if the warranty is voided from stripping? I noticed "alterations" was one of the things Busse frowned upon.
Also, is the blade going to corrode very easily when it's stripped??
Would you be able to show me a close-up pic of how yours turned out??

So now it's my fault, eh? No worries, I have always blamed Tyrkon Lawson for sending me down this road to perdition.

Stripping will not hurt your warranty. AFAIK, Jerry has never denied a warranty claim for anything. The guy who announced in advance that he was going to break his knife by shooting it didn't make a claim, so that doesn't count. Many of my own knives have had the edge reground and thinned, so I assume that I have voided my warranty, but that's my choice.

INFI is not stainless, but is quite stain resistant nonetheless. Some people use them in salt water environments without trouble.

here are some stripping threads of mine;

When I get an ASHBM, it will absolutely get stripped.
