I want to purchase my first Busse. It seems a Battle Mistress is my easiest route as far as availability goes. I really want an SFNO, as do many others. Should I give up on the SFNO and by the FBM? I'm thinking black or urban gray blade with black/green G-10 magnum scales? What do you guys think??

cant go wrong with a fbm, in any configuration. if you really want the sfno, and money is limited, i would wait for the one you want. watch the exchange. if you are going to get a bunch (like some people), get the fbm and when the right sfno comes along,

GRAB IT QUICK!!!:D

Funds are a little tight. How often do SFNO's come up? Either one is an awesome blade. Decisions, decisions.

Best buy the FBM at Store price rather than buy it later at exchange rates.

Black w/ BLack G-10 Magnums:thumbup:

I too would like a SFNO:)

i think we all want an sfno (or another for some, though not me). i was thinking fbm in urban grey w/ black and blue g10

Grab a FBM. They will be hot. I missed out the war boar......still not sure what is my chances to get it with fair price or the color I want.

You now think have a doubt is only fair, wait until you missed out something you want you can't recover the decision.

Busse is never hard to sell. I can almost garantee you that you will gonna get your money back. The question is will you want to sell it? Most model in 2nd market at least gone up 10% in original price. Have you notice that?

Tell me a 2nd company's knife gone up in price. There are not many out there that you can name of.

I'd go for the FBM. The SFNO is really hard to find and it costs a truckload of money.:grumpy:

Yeah I would also like to have some more SFNOs :D ;)

Welcome to the Busse forum, I'm glad that you stopped by. Stick around and read and enjoy. I don't think you need to make the decision on what you are going to buy today but I wouldn't wait for too long. Jerry has had the FBM up for a couple of months and I can't imagine it will be available to order (with your choice of colors) for much longer.

To start I would look at the Nothing but pics thread at the top of this forum. Start on the last few pages and check out some pics of knives. Try to decide what size you really want and then start the hunt. Be sure to ask any questions you have and everyone here will be more than helpful to get you hooked ;)

:D:D

It really doesn't matter which you get, because once you have some INFI you'll sell your firstborn, left nut, kidney, and you mother for more!
YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! INFINSANITY!

Thanks for the replies, I'm starting to get that I need more feeling and I don't have my first one yet, lol.

I'm also wondering on blade finish for the FBM? Urban gray or black, will either wear better than the other under usage? I'm leaning towards the magnum scales, but have never held one in person, with that being said magnum or regular scales for a user? What are your preferences? Thanks again guys.

Mags....with hesitation!!!! I have a Blk on Blk with Mag Handles...may order a Blue G10 Black Black though...or change my current order......decisions?

What about blade coating urban gray or black, for wear under use? I may be losing my mind, but I was thinking by the time I add magnums to the FBM, I could spend another $200 or so and get the LE FBM which is satin, no finish wear problems. Would I be crazy to use the LE FBM and beat the snot out of it though? Do you see a trend here of me giving myself a sales pitch??

If your gonna use it than your gonna scratch it up.
If it's got a coating on it then you just grab the Krylon and give it a new coat:D

If it's the satin finish, well your gonna have to live with the scratches unless you want to take sandpaper or 3m pad to it.:o

You might even strip the coating off and have a nice grey metal finish:thumbup:

If it's gonna be a user than you want the marks of battle on it.
Let's em know that you use your tools:D

I'm getting Black on Black and I been thinking about putting my own camo finish on the blade.

That's a good point, black/green magnum scales with black blade seems like a good combo. Does anyone have a pic of that combo? If I could sneak several Busses past my wife I wouldn't have to think so hard about this, lol.

I think Blk Grn handle the green is actually gonna be really Green! Should be close to the picture Busse listed. Not sure u wanna go for that green.

The Green linen is actually very attempting to me.

Get the HR mith magnum scales. I sold my FSH cause I didn`t need an XXXL chopper but an all-time user. And that' s exactly, what the HR is - and furthermore available on the secondary market an much cheeper than the SFNO.
