My first Busse

Congrats! What a great knife. They make great EDCs. Thanks for posting a pic. Nice background shot of the valley.

Be sure to have fun with her! :D

Dang that is a beautiful knife! Great pic! Since that is a model I'm considering (meaning I really want one), can you tell me if it seems a bit thick for a "light duty" EDC? Mostly concerned about slicing and all-around handiness.

Personally, I prefer the Leaner Meaner or the AD over the Meaner. I think that the THINFI is much "friendlier" for EDC than the heavy stuff. An Anorexic Badger or SP NARK might be another option, but that is starting to get rather large/long.

Gimme, nice choice for your first one man!!!!

Welcome to the forums.

So, what's next??? (and it WILL happen.... ;)  )

I ordered a Model T when they were available from the company store. I thought it was a little thick still and the rear of the tang bit my hand, I sold it before it even got pants. Does anyone know if I bought a Leaner Meaner if the shop could grind off the tang to keep it from stabbing my hand? Just wondering, as I think I'd really like a new leaner meaner.

Hey Solstice, I bet that RW your selling would match this one pretty good eh. As for EDC I plan to carry it once I get a sheath but until then I dont know. I dont think the thickness will bother me. Im trying not to think about which one will be next, painful on the wallet.

Very nice knife!

I do know what you mean about the smaller blades rear tang GregB. I had my BAIII rear tang professionally ground off along with the front tang hole ground off into a larger choil for better finer grips. It's a perfect EDC for me now-- clip point 3/16" with camo finish.

They USED to and no reason to think they have stopped. Not that big a deal. Call the shop, tell em what you got and ask what a 'butt grind' will cost.

This little 'procedure' does wonders for the handling and balance of say SJ or NO-E size on down knives. Really worth looking into.

I am contemplating between a Meaner Street and an Active Duty at the moment...

That Meaner Street photo looks great...and it's available at the company store...aahhrr....

Funny you should mention that... My HO FSH is DC with Mag black canvas handles, same setup on one of my Meaner Streets (minus the Mag). Ahhhh they always look so happy when they're together! :D

Still waiting on the Ratweiler. Plenty of complements (thanks everyone) but no "bites".

Don't have any complaints about the butt of my Meaner Streets. True the reverse grip does take some adjusting to get use to it but the handling of this knife is pure silk. I find myself watching TV (or when I'm on the puter) just flipping it back and forth. I'd have to say that yes the thickness does get it the way when doing some everyday cutting or slicing but nothing I'd would want to trade off for the brute thickness of this blade. Don't get me wrong 3/16" is nothing to laugh at but almost a 1/4" of INFI... sometimes size does matter!

BTW... there's still a LE Meaner Street at the Company Store.....last one up there!

Hurry.... Make room for the HEAVY DUTIES!
