Hey all, here are some pics of my latest custom acquisition. It's a Tichbourne Wilderness Riverboat with a mirror polished blade and brass guard, stabilized buckeye burl finger grooved handle with mosaic pins. For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of dealing with them or better yet meeting them, George and Carol Tichbourne are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet so I'm very honored to posess this great piece. They are also fellow BF forumites. Here are the links to some pics..

Thanks Roger. Sorry about the small pics. I'm still getting the hang of this picture taking thing. I've resized them.

I like the guard style...That is something you don´t see everyday, a guard bending towards the tip.

Well the first image is much bigger now - thanks! What are the dimensions and materials?

Roger

Hi Roger, look forward to seeing you at the Tuesday night get together on the 18th.

The specs on the knife.

440C 3/16 thick 14 1/2" long 9 1/2" blade Brass guard and Buckeye Burl handle scales.

BrB the guard is not curved, must be distortion in the photo.

Chris I hope you realize that by putting this photo on the web Amy is going to find out that you have your Christmas present already and may change her mind on whatever she had in mind for you.

Really like the blade profile. It's obvious that it's very comfortable in hand.:thumbup:

George, I'm hoping she does change her mind. Hence why I brought her by the shop a fw weeks ago. I could use a matching piece.
Roger, I look forward to meeting you in person on Tuesday if the weather works in my favor and seeing what you bring for show and tell.
Kevin, it is very comfortable in the hand even with my little girly hands. It's very tempting to take it out in the bush.

I have two customs by George. One a Kitchen knife and another a small Hunting knife and I wouldn't trade them for anything, because they are made by George who I consider to be a good friend & maker.

P.S George may make all the knives, But the shop is run in a fine manner by Carol as well. Two of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Thankyou AJ appreciate your kind words. It's always a pleasure to have you drop in. Maggie is NOT going to be there tomorrow night so all should be well :)

Chris, I hope Amy is able to join us, would enjoy meeting her, AND we do have another Riverboat now ;)

Roger, it will be a real treat to see you again, it has been a while.

Looking forward to tomorrow nite, 7-9pm 905-670-0200

Unfortunately Carol, Amy can't make it as she is heading back to visit her family in Enterprise. I'll be there though. As for that Riverboat, my custom budget is unfortunately spent until March, however I have been a very good boy this year :D so if you by chance happen to know Santa Clause...;).
Anyway though, I do believe I've seen the Riverboat you speak of. If it is the one with the corian handle, it's a great looking piece indeed and someone is going to get lucky with this one. See you guys tomorrow. I'll be bringing my riverboat to show Roger as he requested in addition to a few of my other customs. Cheers.
