Sal must have taken a shine to me at the SHOT Show (or he's taking pity on me now) because when I got home today, I found a box from Colorado... and an upset girlfriend wondering what I had bought now!

After calming her down, we opened the box to find a Fully Serrated Spyderco Calypso, with black Micarta scales. Best of all, it has an engraving on it, "Spark, Thanx Much, Sal"

Obviously this one's going to be kept nice for a long while.....

I have to say I'm pleased with the blade design, it's very comfortable in the hand, especially in a saber grip. The handle is shaped so I can easily get my fingers forward for delicate work, and there are several other little touches that all add up to make the knife very well designed indeed. I'll post more on the features when I get a chance to take some pictures....

Thanks again Sal!!! And thanks to all of you guys (and all of Spyderco), may our partnership be long and fruitful.

Spark - glad to hear of your recent acquisition. I'm sure you'll enjoy the serrated version - cuts almost as well as the Military IMO. Looking forward to reading your review of it.

He sure is lucky, I had two and traded one for a Howard V. folder, but the one I have will never leave, it's the one I carry all the time, even to church, the wife doesn't seem to mind as long as it's clipped in the pocket, it's when I wear a belt sheath with either the Wood/Irie or Sebenza to church that she puts her foot down, I do get away with it when we go at night, heh heh, less formal then, plus I stay to her right and she doesn't see.

I love the peaked back of the blade and the flat grind and the good fitting handle and the way it tapers all the way down to the point, it's a great knife and fairly light to boot!

Danelle,

He was hoping no doubt heh. It sounds like sending Spark a package is bad for his health. Makes me glad I am single! heh
