Finally got the opportunity to snag one of Nathan's knives.

Shiv in OD Green
First off great service from jo can't say enough for her answering my silly questions.

Even though as described it's a very stabby slim profile . She push cut receipt paper just fine

I have to say it has one of the finest out of the package edges I have received as of late. Very very fine work .

Can't wait to play with it in my alaskan back yard lol.

And I look forward to adding a field knife just as soon as I can (Mabey a light chopper too ;) )

I keep getting an error message when I try to upload the picture you sent. I'll keep trying.

It does cut the pic I sent mr freeze shows about a 1" to 1 3/8 diameter sapling (it's pretty dense and fibrous ) sinsales@northridgetool.comgle swing which to me is impressive for how thin the blade profile is.

No edge glimmer afterward at all afterwards :)

I will definitely be looking for a light chopper in the future

Congratulations on a fine blade and a new, long-lasting, friendship.....not only with the knife but with the Carothers, Salt of the Earth. :)

Now I am jealous!
Seriously, I'm glad you were able to score it, and may you use it in good health.
Hopefully you'll be able to get more in the future!

No way now i REALLY want tha choppa

Thanks even though it's marketed mainly as a stabber it certainly cuts . I'll have to try and get better at posting pics but last night I sliced some bbq Chinese pork with it ... for as thick as it is it cuts beautiful :)

Thanks @ mrfreeze for the pics

Indeed jo was extremely helpful and I thank Nathan for taking the time to answer my silly questions (like a kid buying a new toy :) )

I really only want a couple more carothers blades then it's all for tooling belts and steel ;)

i was fortunate enough to pick up one of Nathans 8" Shivs. I watched the video and said "I've GOT to have one of those!!." I had the hardest time catching one on the exchange and finally in a fit of frustration sent an email asking if there was anyway possible to get one put together. Nathans response - "Sure, just tell me what you want, send me a USPS MO and I'll get it headed your way." 4 days later, it shows up and is everything and more than described and shown. The Chopper has funds set aside and I would love to pick up one of the utility knives for my brother in law. Nathan was a pleasure to do business with and puts out a fantastic product.

^ this.

So far my only.gripe is with the sheath which has nothing to do with Nathan's work.

But the retention on mine was ridiculously strong so strong I wouldn't want anyone weaker then me (I don't think I'm weak but I'm no hulk either)trying to
Un sheath it.
After about 8 hours of having the knife out came the heat gun lol
First let me say it is a very high quality sheath it just needed some tuning.

Now I can easily draw and sheath the shiv with my preferred amount of resistance .
It was pulling my pants up and down when I went to sheath and un sheath it lol
I have been carrying it around the house in a charlie.mike style (works well for this bigger blade size

I heard a rumour that there might be a Carothers Performance Knives subforum on the horizon...
