I picked up a CQC-7BTS, that has the H&K "international Training Division" logo. It's dated 1999, and was NIB. Any reason not to carry it, and is the value on par with a standard CQC-7?

i think emerson does custom engraving on some of their knives. so the hk has no effect on the quality of the knife. there is no reason not to carry it, mines riding in my pocket right now

i would say yours would have a small premium over a std '7 to a collector if its in LNIB shape. MAYBE $50, tops, if someone needed it for a collection. probably more like $20 though.

i would carry it unless ya collect EKIs.

i havent seen or heard of one of those in quite some time though.

Good, that's what I hoped and expected. I just didn't want to start carrying something that should be a safe queen.

No Emerson should ever be held hostage in a safe. Makes me shudder to think that a hard-use tool would be collecting dust instead of collecting scars. That's what a William Henry is for

The 7 was my first Emerson also. Nice little knives but I learned with that first one I really have no use for tanto blades although they sure look cool.

I picked up a CQC7 a while back for a friend on another forum he didn't belong to. He said he wanted it and paid me to snag it for him. Man it was nice. It was the "A" model and the old discontinued green G10 scales. Been trying to get that one back almost since giving it to him because when it arrived here and I saw how nice it was I was really regretting that it wasn't mine but he won't budge.

that depends on how many emersons ya have, & what models, i dont carry all of mine, i only rarely carry my customs anymore, though i did edc my CQC8 for 2 yrs, emerson customs are much pricier than any WHK i am aware of lol, some of my productions are getting on up there too, my LNIB ECA P-Tac for instance, to be honest my fav right now is my G10/ti CQC12 plain edge,
