Greetings everyone! I'm very excited to say that I will be attending my first craft show this year, the Ameliasburgh Fall Fair on Saturday September 20th, the Vigil of St. Matthew. People have been telling me for years that I should participate in an event like this, and things just have not lined up for me to do so, until now. Given that this is nearly six months away, and I have invested more heavily this year than ever before in getting blanks of many of my designs waterjet cut and heat treated in multiple alloys, I will have time to gradually create a diverse selection of offerings for the fairgoers.

In the interest of transparency, be it known that my intent is to make about one of these per week until that time, alongside existing custom orders, so long as the additional volume of work does not threaten to delay the expected time frames I gave to anyone who has paid a deposit for their order.

I will post pics of my builds as I usually do in the "What's Happening in the David Mary Custom Shop?", but I won't necessarily call specific attention to Fair knives as such. However, on my Instagram page davidmary255 I will be specifically singling out certain builds destined for the event and tagging the Fair organizers so that their followers will be able to get a glimpse of the WIP and finished product in advance of the fair. I won't disclose every build destined for the Fair that way, so that IG followers will still be able to be surprised by some unexpected items come Fair day.

Thanks everyone. Show ended and I have some new customers and talked to lots of people. It was a lot of fun. Kinda slow for me because of the rural crowd and the economy, everyone else I talked to said it was slow for them too. But I will do it again, God willing.

Reconnected with some old friends as well which was fantastic.

There will be a sale later. Bigger sale than I expected. In a way I wish I’d sold everything to escape the customs paperwork and extra cost I have to charge for shipping with FedEx. Not to mention the anticipation of waiting for my blades to actually get through customs clearance.

But I’m not complaining. Only getting ready to put my head down and do what I must to get some enjoyable cutting tools into the hands of new friends and old.

Looking to see when more Magnacut comes in, for a small ..not too small…cutter. Only after you rest!!! Take care of yourself. Will be looking forward to seeing what you on the sale at a later date.

A few people reached out to me before I could make that happen, and a handful and a half have been sold to them. And I thought if I could sell the remaining 22 knives, I could afford to do so at a dealer discount. So I am grateful to say that Empire Outfitters has generously purchased them, which means they will eventually be available to USA customers without the hassle and stress of international shipping.
