After watching videos on Youtube and reading posts, I did not expect to be overwhelmed when I first got the Sebenza. But I must tell you, when I first saw it, I thought Wow. At first I had issues with the deployment, but after a drop of oil on the pivot and a slight turn with the allen wrench to loosen it just slightly. That is all taken care of. I love this knife right out of the gate. I sold a Benchmade Barrage, a Spydero Native 5, and a Mini Griptilian (CPM M4) with Custom Wilkins scales to get it. It was to me, worth the trade off. I may have to sell off a few more knives to get one with the Cocobolo inlays (which will match the cherry wood in my home).

Nice looking blade and nice looking house sir!

Regarding the pivot--keep the pivot screw nice and snug. It is designed such that it does not need adjustments. It may feel a little stiff at first, but it will wear in nicely.

Welcome to the CRK family.

Great looking knife, If I were to get a Sebenza that would be the one.

Welcome to the club! Great blade ya got there. I have been EDC'ing my 25 for a few months now and I really can't believe how much I like how it rides in the pocket. I am usually a 3" folder or below guy when I'm in my business attire but I can slip the 25 in with some khakis and its not even noticeable. Have fun with your new blade and I hope you plan to use her!

Congratulations and welcome to the family. Won't be long and you will be ordering your next. Just like Lay's potato chips, you can't have just one.

Really loving the hint of brown in that inlay. Totally gorgeous knife....I want one!....then again I want them all. Great first choice!

Welcome brother. Hopefully you don't stab your house too much with your new beauty! Maybe you should make a notch for every sebenza you buy! Haha just kidding... very nice knife you have though

Be careful, these are dangerous to own, soon you will see yourself selling many knives because.
1. Your CRK's are just plain better in every way and you feel let down when you carry a "lesser" knife
2. for the above reason, you need more CRK.

Good luck, your only hope is to freeze your assets.

while it is a great knife, I cant really say its better in "every way". the M390 Paramilitary II I have been carrying for the last year is still superior in deployment, ergonomics and blade material. I may still keep in in the rotation.

...or I may end up selling it and getting another CRK,....the jury is still out at this time.

Congrats and welcome to the family. Great first choice by the way.

The crk may grow on you. It wasn't my intention.

no problem, it doesn't have to grow on me, I do love the knife. In fact, I'm already planning to buy another on. but just not sure I'm ready to send my PM2s down the road yet. The ergos on the PM are better, and I do hate the thumb stud, but everything else about the Sebenza (and I mean everything), I really really love.

The transition from the spyder hole to the crk thumb stud is awkward at best. Ergos are a prefrence. My 25 has what it takes.

I agree. The ergos on my G10 Native 5 are far superior to my CRK's. When you pick it up it just works. However, it's that extra something that makes me want to carry a CRK as opposed to the Native 5. Certainly I agree that deploying with a spiderhole (as opposed to thumb lug), and the spyderco ergonomics are totally sensible and practical, but my choices are not always purely logical. I would say that the deployement on the Umnumzaan is also great, and comes close to the mark set by Spyderco.

One think I feel CRK has over Spyderco, is it smuch easier to do maintenance and disassembly on most CRK, and they are way slimmer in pocket. I got my first 21, because I was tired of reaching past my Spyderco Sage to get at something else in deeper my pocket. CRK is better in pocket than most of spydercos popular models. You get more blade, for less width and less mass in a CRK, I would argue. The PM2 is a whole bunch of handle, for not much blade, though is clearly a great knife.

I hear ya, I have only had the Benza for a few days, given time I think I will be ready to move past my PM2s and only carry the CRKs, but it will take a little time to make that transition. I totally love the Seb, so I will probably get there.
