Just got my first Chris Reeve knife, a small Sebenza 31 (born 4/8/2021). Had read about the “lock-rock” situation and fell asleep reading the 74-page thread. Was a little worried about what would show up at my door, but there is no play at all in the lock.
And it has the S45VN blade. Very happy with it.

Nice start! I ordered my first s45 CRK but have not received it just yet. Welcome to the club:thumbsup:
I assume based on your user name that you live in Houston, I am just down I10 from you about 50 miles!

Yep, Ernie1980, actually in Galveston County.

As soon as the large 31 insingos hit the stores, I’ll be getting one. Loved my 31 drop point in micarta but sold it, waiting for plain jane instead

Spada, I thought the same about the sharpness. But I like disassembling a knife and putting an edge on it myself anyway. Fine-tuned the edge just the way I like it.

Big congrats on the new 31! 👍

A new large 31 landed on my doorstep yesterday -- has the exact same "birthday" as yours! As for mine, however, it is still S35VN -- so, I guess they haven't quite yet made the switch to S45VN on the large Sebenzas.

Here's my new one that just landed this morning. I can make it rock lock a tinny bit (faint click sound) with my thumb pushing against the spine near the tip. but I think it should go away as the ceramic ball wears more into the tang.

The fit and finish is amazing, no break-in period required either the action is super smooth.
