A brand new Large Sebenza 21. The birth date is just 3 days different than mine. Wouldn't that have been something.

I've watched just about every Youtube video, and every page of this forum and anything else I could find on the internet in anticipation of receiving it. The deciding factor for me spending this much money on a knife was the BladeHQ shop tour video. Seeing the amount of work that goes in to these knives made me just have to have one.

My first impressions are it is a bit different than I expected based off of pictures. Not anything bad, just different. The Ti texture is rougher than I would have thought. It does take some effort to open the knife, but the blade almost drops free when disengaging the lock bar. I'm expecting it will smooth out some.

It is definitely a keeper, and I plan on carrying it.

Maybe I'll write up some other impressions after using it for a while.

Congrats on your first CRK! There is a lot of hype surrounding the sebenza and for good reason. I think the only reason people are caught off guard or disappointed at first is because of all of the hype and it is different than they expect. It is not until you carry and and enjoy a sebenza do you start to realize it is justified. I have probably owned over 100 folders and my trusty sebenza ends up in my pocket more than any other knife. The action will smooth out over time and the rough blasted finish will get a soft velvety worn feel to it. As long as you take care of the knife it will serve you well for a lifetime. The only downside to sebenzas I have found is that they are addictive. Enjoy it!

Congratulations Nick. I just baught my first CRK too. I got a Small Sabenza 21 08/25/15 it's only 1 day off of my birthday I was really surprised. Well 1 day and 42 years but who's counting right. Lol can't wait to finally get one in hand.

Nice choice and I'm certain it will get smoother to open after some break-in. The large 21 is the perfect carry blade. The feel of the bead blasted titanium will be appreciated during use-- when you're not thinking about it.

About 3 years ago I bought a Sebenza 25 after collecting a number of Benchmade and Spyderco models. Upon opening the 25 and handling it for the first time I thought, "Really? $450 for this?" Well, three years later I have sold off most all of my other knives and now have 35 Chris Reeve models. Nothing compares to them, in my opinion, and that includes some other well known folders in the holy trinity.

Congratulations on your first Chris Reeve!

Congrats on the new CR, I bought my first one here mid Dec. , by the end of Dec. I bought two more. I do have other high end brands but they do not even come close to the feel and quality of the Chris Reeve knives.

Thanks. I'm really enjoying it. Just to be clear on my comments about it being different than expected, it isn't anything negative. Just different.

It disappears in the pocket. I can't even tell it is there whether wearing work slacks or jeans. My other knives of similar size are always felt in my pockets.

Congrats on your first CRK. My first was a umnumzaan, and was so delighted with it that I took home a 21 Large in the same month. IMHO these are worth it and they are getting the most edc time at the moment.

Congrats on your first one! Carry it everyday for 30 days and then try to carry something else. You'll be wanting your crk back in your pocket within the first hour.

That's how I feel, at least. I've been carrying a CRK of some variety every day for right at two years and I can't imagine using anything else and I've tried a lot of different knives.

Edit.....Lone Wolfe should be along any minute now to show you your future :D

i also just got my 1st CRK as well...a large 21 sebbie leftie...love it so far...
