Folks, someone on BF suggested Eddie White (http://shadowknives.com/ ) a little while back. Well, I contacted him and he made a knife for me, which came a few days ago. I've finally managed to take some photos of it.

This is based on his Model IX. I asked him to make it in the extra small size, the blade in 154CM, 3/16" thick, and to harden it as much as possible, but not so much as to be brittle. He told me this blade would come it at around 60-61 HRC, with his own heat treatment. I also asked that he crown or round off the spine of the blade, which you can see in the last photo down below. I think he did a fantastic job, and highly recommend him. What a gentleman to work with.

Here are a few pics:

Thanks for looking!

Oh, BTW, the blade came hair popping sharp!

That looks like a great EDC. Nice stag too! What is the overall length on it?

Good stuff! Looks like it'd be really comfortable in the hand and just the right size/blade shape for EDC.

It's plenty comfortable, has enough traction from the stag, and feels slightly hefty.

Next one will probably be with a longer blade. But for probably 95% of what I usually need a blade to do, it will, in spades.

Eddie White is a top notch dude, his grinds are always CLEAN!
I sent him a drawing I did and he made it for me back in 2009. I have since started making knives and have asked him questions about stuff, he readily shares info and is a really cool dude.

That looks like a very user friendly piece and that stag is really quite exceptional!

About the only way I could think to improve it is to add a lanyard hole. I personally like lanyards on small EDC fixed blades. They make the knife easier to get to.

This extra small Model IX specifically does not come with a lanyard hole, as most if not all of the other knives do. I suppose I could have asked for one to be added, but I decided to go with it as Eddie originally designed it.

The stag is much better than these photos show. It's simply spectacular.
