Holy Smokes! This knife is beautiful. I knew I wouldn't be able to hold out and NOT buy a custom.

Lightly anodized bead blasted frame, bronze ano clip, filler tab, LBS and thumb studs. The new brass standoffs. I have a full bronze ano Ti scale for this but love the CF.

Thanks for looking,
Chris

Love the Satin Spearpoint grind...it's on the top of my want list.

Your BB looks to be standard, not light anodized.

Nice knife.

Congrats man. Very few actually go through with seeking out & buying a grail custom XM. Love that bronze Thumbstud.

Many travel a different path in the hunt...I journey to shows/such across the country and take my chances in lotteries...other fire up an Internet-capable machine and hunt that way...it's part of the fun.

That spearpoint is unbelievable. That is my favorite blade shape without a doubt. What a beautiful knife. Congrats!

I can more than understand the travel journey. My first passion is pool and cue collecting. Last year I went to many cue shows across the country. The most satisfying was flying to Chicago and I purchased a cue from a highly exclusive cuemaker. Loved every minute of the trip.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, the frame is lightly anodized. It shimmers gold in the sunlight. That is how it was described to me as well. And it looks nothing like the beadblast 3" slicer that is my EDC. My photography skills are not very good to illustrate the color.

Thanks for all of the kind words. Rick is truly a master of his craft.

Cool,

My pool cues are not rare/fancy...just nice(ish) like McDermott and such. Billiards to me is a light hobby, I'm not deeply passionate about it, but enjoy playing often.

If that frame is anodized like you are describing, that sounds like a nice unique quality.

If it were mine, only thing I'd consider is swapping the brass standoffs for bronze Ti since it might better match everything else on that knife. But that's just me.

I used to play pool 30-40 per week and I competed in many tournaments. Now that my twin boys just turned 5, I am lucky to play 2-4 hours per week. My main focus of cues are made by Dennis Searing. He is truly unique and considered by many to be the very best since Gus Szamboti.

The standoffs ARE brass and I do agree that bronze standoffs would be a much better match. However, I do not have them at this time. I believe Rob said they will be releasing standoffs in the near future for sale on the website. I installed a fully bronze ano Ti scale on it this morning. I prefer the CF for some odd reason.

IIRC, there is a big knife show in New York. I will look to go to that depending on the scheduling. That's not too far from CT.

Well if you decide to sell that CF you know I'm looking ;). Yeah I'm dying for some standoffs and scales.

Upon seeing that XM.
