For all of my Emerson faimly.
If you guys would do me the honor of being the first to take a look at my first custom knife and let me know what you think.
As you will see this is my first step (baby step)into full blown knife fabrication from conception to compleation this one is mine.
I know that this is the Emerson forums and my name is not Emerson but you guys are the only people I really talk with on or off the forums and I respect your input good or bad.

Picture is on my website.

Kevin,
Beautiful work. I love the high grind. Great size and proportions. I can't make out the grind on the other side from the picture. Looks like a chisel grind, but I'm not sure. Congratulations on a very successful effort.

This one is hollow ground on an 8"wheel,a chisel grind would have been easier but I have never been one to take the easy road.
I went through a lot of scrap iron and burnt fingers practicing this grind.
If you could see the other side the grind lines are off a bit but I am proud of it nonetheless for my first effort.

And proud you should be! Great work, Kevin! It's a beautiful knife - I too like the proportions ant the grinds. Like the addition of the quarter for scale, too.

For a first piece, it's great! Can't wait to see what you cone up with after being at it for a while. Great job!!

Very nice! It looks like a solid piece. If you are going to grind as a business, I just might have to place an order.

Kevin,

That sure looks like a sweet knife. That is my favorite blade shape too. Nice work. Now send it to me

To all who have taken the time to look at my first attempt at knife making many thanks, I owe everything that I have achived thusfar to Larry Chew,Larry Davidson, and all of you here on the Emerson forums, you guys have never had a bad word to say about my work only a friendly nudge in the right direction when needed and that has really helped me along.
My next attempt will be a folder 4"blade Ti bolsters Micarta scales, and will have finger grooves if you can belive that, The design work is already complete and I am gathering the materals together for 4 knives as we speek, I hope to be able to show them at Blade this year.
As far as taking pre orders on this knife, I am still to self concince about my work to do this without the end user seeing and holding the knife and approving the piece, however the first pictures will show on the Emerson forums if allowed and you guys get them if you like them and want them.

Thanks to all of you.
