My dad has recently found the hobby of knife making. He's bought blades and then made the handles before but he's never made a knife from just a blank piece of steel. He tried. He succeeded. Not only was it his first time using a blank, but it was his first time using G-10. I believe it is beautiful. What do you guys think? Any tips I could relay back to him? Enjoy.

I've never seen a blade design quite like that. What was his inspiration? Or was this just a random stroke of genius? Whatever the case, I like it! The handle reminds me of a Case toothpick knife.

I think the blade design just came to him. And thats interesting that you think it looks like the toothpick, because now that you say that i think it looks like that too. he gave me a Texas Toothpick for my birthday this year.

That's pretty amazing for a first try. The only real tip I can give him is to hang around in the Shop Talk forum a bit, and try to pick up as much as he can. There's lots of great information there. Tips and tricks on grinding, equipment, money saving, e.t.c.
