Well I have enjoyed sod busters for a few years now. When I am outdoors I tend to lean towards a largish single blade slipjoint, most of the time I carry a folding hunter or daddy Barlow but a large sod buster sometimes bumps its way in also. Over the years I have wound up with 3 large stainless case soddies and used them a lot for cleaning and butchering game, fish, and making brooms and garden chores. I have hunted for a while to try and find a CV one locally but had no luck. This morning at the flea market i stopped to see a vendor who has not been there since last fall. He sells a decent selection of Case, Boker, Buck, Cammilus, and older Schrade stuff. In one of the cases i saw a Large Case sod buster in CV and an older Schrade daddy Barlow in mint condition. It was his last of the both of them. I bought them both. I started breaking the soddie in when i got back by slicing up rhubarb and strawberries for 10 more pints of jam. The blade has taken an all most black patina all ready. any ways i am happy, and happy fathers day to you dads out there. Joe

Glad to hear you not only scored that soddie, but the Daddy Barlow too. Sounds like that CV has been working plenty already! :D Simple pleasures.
