My first Damascus sebbie on the way!

Well a small 21. I love the blue with the raindrop. I've always been a fan of raindrop Damascus. Even best with a CRK. It seems there was sort of a sweet spot a couple years back for that deep rich dark or black etched look. Some of the vids I've seen from around 2012 it really seemed to pop! It seems the pictures as of recent runs the blades look more gray and ashy. Is it just me? I know this is a stock photo from BHQ, crossing my fingers it's as close to this pattern as can be. A lot of the raindrop I've seen doesn't have that puddle and star look to it. More of a wavy pattern. I'm really excited! I hope the extra price is worth it. I have a large 21 micarta in S35VN that will never leave me. I always go back to my sebbie. Don't we all? Seemed fitting to just go with a plain ti for the small. Although a Grail would be a large 21 cf with raindrop. (Sickness is starting again. Haha) Enable me please!

You're going to love it !

One of my most carried blades is a small PJ 21 with a Spiro damascus blade. They take a crazy sharp edge, hold the edge very well, and stand up to daily use much better than i thought that it would. It's not my first damascus user but it's the damascus that I've used most- I love that knife 😊

The appearance and texture of the finished blade seems to have changed in the last 8 months or so. The newer damascus blades feel smoother along the surface and the finish is much shinier-very similar to the appearance of the old coated damascus blades that they did a while ago. I like the smoother action of the newer knives, that said, I never had a problem with the "rougher" pattern that they've always used. It seems like they've sanded the blades to a higher almost polished finish before etching, it's really nice.

I expect that there'll be a Large CF Raindrop in your future.

Check back in once you get it and let us all know what you think.

And, congrats on the knife.

Will do! Thanks a lot Rob! Oh yeah and Aaron....

Beautiful!
Always thought the plain jane ti and raindrop demascus was one of the best looking of the bunch.

Agreed. A plain large 21 raindrop damascus is one of my grails to get in the near-ish future.

Great choice!

I know you'll like and grow to love your new small with raindrop. I have a large with raindrop and a small with ladder, two

of my favorites. They hold a nice edge and are easy to sharpen.

There's something really cool about a plain with a damascus blade. Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm getting used to the small size again and this gorgeous blade. It's growing on me for sure. I've just never owned anything this nice blade wise.

Thanks LW! It's not the insane raindrop from a few years ago but very nice.

I see it as a completely different pattern. I call it Pebble Beach, and I like it a lot. I have a blade on order for my EDC, hope it gets in before the pattern changes back.

James, that is sooo beautiful. I love the plain jane/Damascus combo. Good pics!

Even though I like the raindrop best, that basketweave is really striking. I might need to get one of each.:)

I don't like all the raindrop variations, but I love that one. I bought a used small 21 from the no IM period with the old screw heads (my favorite sebenza set up) and ordered a raindrop blade for it a couple months ago. I'm a very patient man :).

Gorgeous pictures! You guys here on the CRK sub forum have always been the best enalblers around. :) I've always thought the blasted ti looks best with this option. That's so great you can "just" order a blade for an existing sebenza. Can't wait to see it. I bought about sending this in to get engraved by CRK with my upcoming wedding date along with our initials somewhere. Hmm

So lathrop, what your saying is that I could order a separate Devon Thomas Damascus blade for the large plain Jane double thumb lug Sebenza 21 I have coming? That would solve the problem of having to order two separate knives, and then I could have a stonedwashed work blade and a Damascus show and tell blade all in one. Weird how the mind tries to rationalise ones discretionary spending.

LW, did you get a time frame on how long an extra blade order from CRK would take?
