Maxace balisong covenant,m390 and Damascus blade,Ti handle with CF inlays,I've never had a Damascus steel knife before,It looks very cool.But it's a little light to flipping

Hmm. I remember the clone manufacturer bali plus blades posted this as an upcoming release. Hopefully whoever made it realizes that the holes in the blade tang shouldnt be 0.20" larger than the pivots themselves like the rest of the stuff they make. I applaud them for making an original design but I would be very weary of the tolerances given what i have seen from them. I can only hope at that price they got it right.

Well, more than one person mentioned about baliplus, which I am very surprised, but as far as I know, this product is maxace's original balisong

Bali plus had a instagram at one point and that is his work. You have to remember stedemon and maxace might not even make their own products. I know their original knife the bastion was made by reate. And they may just put their name on original designs after getting an exclusive right to sell the design under their name. I have known about this knife for months as a baliplus. Then bali plus disappeared off all social media and it resurfaces as a maxace. Either way, i love the design and i hope that if this is made by the bali plus people that they have sorted their tolerance issues. And i hope they stay the path with not making clones. But the covenant was featured as a oem design by bali plus months ago and the video is still up.

I feel i may owe an apology as im pretty convinced i am incorrect on who made the knife. It seems the bali plus guy may have not had anything to do with it. So I may have spoke too soon on that point. I was under the impression it was made by a group that makes clones but it appears this was not farmed out to those people. And since speculating about my worries that the pivot tolerance could be off they have posted pics proving that is not the case. So the curious cat that i am i went and ordered an m390 variant with stonewashed handles.

I did see a YT video of a guy who dropped his and the tip bent which kinda surprised me for m390 run at 60+ hrc. I would have thought it would snap but who knows im certainly not a metalurgist. Manufacturing looks very similar to how we makes its stuff and even the m390 font is nearly identical. We does do oem work. Unless im just dead wrong and maxace makes its own stuff but i dont think they do. Either ways its a huge gamble at nearly four hundred dollars. But it very well could be awesome. Time will tell.

Well i still have it on order and plan on keeping it that way. But there really are some odd things going on here. First people reported its a baliplus. Then that same source claims they are wrong and its a maxace in house design. Now this morning i come to find the bali plus guy claiming he did design it but it will be sold as a maxace. I am 100% confused. Regardless im keeping the order because even if it is a design by the baliplus guy i have to applaud this being his own effort. I just hope to god its made properly. Im gonna throw a child like tantrum if it has elementary level errors. :D
