This is my Bob Dozier Model 6 in Burgundy Micarta.
If I had bought this knife myself, it would probably be my favorite knife. The fact that it was given to me removes all doubt.
A couple weeks ago I noticed that fellow forum member Don Adelfson was in Oceanside. I decided to give him an Email and see if he wanted to hang out and talk knives. He did. Turns out he lives about a block from my work. We decided I would come over an hour before work on Saturday.
His knife collection is amazing. Lots of MS and JS examples, Randalls, great folders, Busses and 6 or 7 Doziers. I told him how much I liked Doziers style, and that I wanted to buy a Dozier very soon. As I played with his Doziers, I really feel in love with the ergos. I always knew Doziers were great, simple users (my kind of knife), but getting to finally feel one was better than I had ever thought. I told him I really liked the white and burgundy Doziers he had because they were more unusual than the normal black and green micarta that you always see.
Just before I had to leave he told me to wait for a moment. "My first Dozier knife was given to me, so I will carry on that tradition... here".
I wish I could have seen my face. I was shocked, and once I understood what he meant and that he was actually giving me a Dozier, I was almost moved to tears. A Dozier Model 6 is not a $30,000 Bill Moran, but $200 is nothing to shake a stick at. He had just met me and was already giving me a $200 knife. It made me feel unworty. Of course I thanked him and thanked him and then Emailed him and thanked him some more, but it still isn't enough.
If you see any of Don Adelfson's posts here or anywhere else, know that he is a very giving person. The knife community is not short of very good, giving people- sort of funny the reputation that we sometimes get.

Thanks Don!
I don't think a review is needed since Dozier's work is already well known. But to make a short evaluation:
-This thing is very sharp.
-Pretty much perfect ergos.
-The sheath is great- easy to draw and return the knife, and very comfortable.
It has become my main work knife. I think I will wear it to work for a long time to come.
