I know, I know, a little off topic, but I thought it was kinda cool. Just 5 more to make and X-Mas gifts are done. Oh yeah, copper and NS mokume. The next ones are going to be two piece models without the "store bought" tips, clip, band, etc. Not too bad for not having a lathe.:D  :D

Sean, you continue to amaze me. You can make anything and you are just as generous a fellow as you are a craftsman.

Very Nice and it is something you can carry everyday :D How long did it to make one of those, very tedias looking. those should make some great x-mas presents.

Fantastic work! And no lathe - you're something else. And making more! Just put me on your Christmas list, okay? I need a pen like that!

Thanks guys, yeah I guess I was a little misleading, but how else would I be able to get you knife nuts to look at a pen?;)

I think these are going to be the answer for my "non knife" relatives gifts. They aren't too bad to make even without a lathe. I turn them vertically using my mill. I can get about 3 inches turned before I start to get alot of runout. All the tapers are done with the piece spinning in the mill and using a file to get to the shape I want.

I definitely learned alot on this first one which should make the next ones go quite a bit faster. I think this one took me about 6 hours to do, including making the mokume, but I hope to get it down to the 4 hour range.

Anybody know if you can electro-etch copper and nickel silver?

Sean, when you post any of your work, I can't wait to see it! That really is a new twist, and super work, fella. Your middle name is now officially "Mokume"! Non-knife folks? They would have to be in-laws!
