Hey all,
I just got my first Emerson, a gentlemen Jim, and thought I would share my first impressions. The first thing I noticed was the level of grip the g10 had, it's very similar to my m4 manix. This combined with the tight pocket clip are bound to destroy my pockets. Who cares, I can get new pants. The next thing I noticed was the thumb disk, another first for me. I found it an easy way to open the blade when not using the wave feature, which I really love. The wave is easy to use and almost intuitive. The blade opening is a little stiff, I played the the pivot a little and got it to a level I like that still keeps the blade centered. The blade came incredibly sharp and the satin finish looks great. The grinds are uneven, but I rarely get production knives that have even ones. The lockup when opened is also rock solid. Overall I am very impressed with the knife and will probably get a v grind cqc 7 sometime. Hope this helps if anyone is on the fence about getting an Emerson.
