Posted this on USN, but since this is the knife forum I visit frequently I decided it belonged here as well.

So even though I just went to go get a knife reprofiled today, I was tempted to stop by the knife shop and have a looksie. I've seen a few Emersons before, but never really handled them. At S&R he had a Commander and a Super Commander in the shelf. When I asked him what else he had, he pulled out his last Emerson; the Horseman. At first I was impressed, then I tried the wave (first time ever doing so) and I was blown away. Had to get it.

My good camera is with the parents on their vacation, so I had to use my webcam. I would love to have HD but this is the best I got

Initial Impressions after a day:

So far, I'm pretty impressed with the Horseman. Even though it's heavier than my SnG the balance is outstanding. It feels very good in hand; the grip inspires confidence. The liner is still sticky, but thankfully I just broke in a strider so i'm somewhat prepared. I'm not sure what to think about the chisel grind yet; still to early to make an opinion. I'll continue to use it for a while.

Oh yeah the wave is freaking awesome. When I was playing with this knife at the store yesterday one bystander saw me wave it and was totally blown away. Thankfully he didn't want to spend the cash so I got to get it lol.

Looks like I'm going to be selling that Spyderco Manix 2 CTS-XHP now, this knife just feels better for me.

- I don't own the CQC-8, but I thought it was a V-grind?

when did you pick up the horseman? does that place have anymore horsemans?

Saturday. S&R knives doesn't have anymore. They only had one more Commander and Super-Commander. He only had this one stashed away and only brought it out when I asked him what else was there
